A great success in innovation and digital strategies

After the success of the first edition of "Spicca il volo con Pimcore", GMDE and Pimcore returned with a second mission, even richer and more engaging.
 

On November 20, 2024, in the picturesque setting of the Fabbrica di Lampadine in Milan, the event "Spicca il volo con Pimcore – Missione numero 2" took place. This unique opportunity allowed participants to discover the capabilities of Pimcore’s Digital Experience Platform (DXP). The day, divided into two sessions, offered in-depth insights into PIM and DAM technological innovations, focusing on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and updates to the user interface.
 

Pimcore User Group: Collaboration and Innovation in the Morning Session

The morning opened with Carlo Caporizzi, CEO of GMDE, introducing the main themes of the conference and emphasizing the importance of sharing experiences to foster collective growth. GMDE’s development team led the “Pimcore User Group” session, presenting practical cases and advanced customizations developed on the Pimcore platform for client companies. The first part of the day focused on three main topics:
 

1. Digital Asset Management (DAM)

The advanced functionalities of DAM and the Asset Portal were highlighted, showcasing innovative solutions for:

  • Advanced metadata management.
  • Asset updates through bulk imports.
  • Extending permissions on individual assets managed within DAM.
  • Controlled consultation and downloading via a portal.
  • Workflow approvals to streamline approval processes for assets and product information.
     

2. Product Information Management (PIM) and AI

The second segment focused on data use in complex models, with an emphasis on:

  • Generating product descriptions using ChatGPT.
  • Automatically translating content for international markets.

 

3. Omnichannel Publishing

The final segment of the morning demonstrated how to optimize omnichannel content publishing through:

  • Automation in producing digital price lists.
  • Creating interactive technical sheets with QR codes for Product Digital Identity (PDI).


The first module of the conference concluded with a Q&A session, enabling the GMDE team to enrich the discussion with valuable insights.
 

Afternoon Session: Strategies and Applications of Pimcore

In the afternoon, the “Spicca il volo con Pimcore 2” session offered a series of strategic and practical presentations, featuring contributions from industry experts and success stories.
 

Key Presentations:

  • Carlo Caporizzi, CEO of GMDE, opened the second half by highlighting the importance of structured data management for business success.
  • Bernd Dultinger, Business & Sales Development at Pimcore, analyzed the future of customer relationships, exploring new business strategies in the digital age.

  • Annarita Conti, Digital Marketing & Social Media Specialist at Euroclone, outlined the phases of PIM implementation, tailored to specific business needs.
  • Sara Zagaria, Director of the Omnichannel Customer Experience Observatory at Politecnico di Milano, discussed challenges and opportunities for Customer Experience in the digital era.
  • Mirko Gotti, Digital Marketing & CRM Specialist at Scame, delved into the benefits of generative AI in optimizing product descriptions.


The day concluded with an engaging Q&A session, followed by closing remarks from Mauro Toselli, CTO of GMDE, who reiterated the central role of PIM and AI in tackling the challenges of digital transformation.
