The conference presenting the 2023 results of the Digital Content Observatory Research aims at providing a detailed analysis of the Italian digital content landscape. Particular emphasis will be placed on digital audio (music, podcasts and audiobooks), video entertainment, information and eBooks.
The ultimate goal is to gain an in-depth understanding of the size, evolution and ongoing trends along the entire production and consumption chain.
After a period of turbulence and dynamism, during which the market witnessed paradigm shifts in consumption and the expansion of the competitive arena, 2023 proved to be a more conservative year. Against this backdrop, industry players focused their energies primarily on consolidating their offerings and business models. They focused on revenue and margins, tackling issues such as the increase in average prices, the fight against account sharing and the contrasting illicit distribution.
At the same time, they explored new opportunities dictated by technological development, particularly generative artificial intelligence, Web3 and the Metaverse.
The research will answer questions such as:
- What are the actors' strategies and how is the supply chain transforming?
- How is the fruition behaviour of the Italian digital content consumer evolving?
- How much is the digital content distribution market worth in Italy?
- What are the main directions of innovation and what are the opportunities and criticalities dictated by the new digital technologies in the digital content market?
