VirtualCMS from the Naviga International suite for content management

In a drive to update the technologies supporting the production and publication of content, Gruppo Corriere has chosen to update the websites of its newspapers: Corriere dell'Umbria, Corriere di Arezzo, Corriere di Siena and Corriere di Maremma.
With a single layout and graphics for all the titles, Gruppo Corriere can maintain a single brand identity for its entire community, speed up content publication, and provide a greater service to its subscribing readers.

From Custom Solution to Virtual CMS

After the e-paper solution VirtualNewsPaper and the GN4 editorial suite, the group has now also implemented the management of all its sites with the VirtualCMS platform, for native integration between all technologies in use at the newspaper's editorial offices.

The main benefits brought by the new solution are:

The user registration module, which enables the management of all information and facilitates readers' access to the newspaper's initiatives;
Integration with the VNP Virtual News Paper, where registered readers can access the digital version of the newspaper directly from the site;
A single SSO (SingleSignOn) for registered users;
The insertion of advertising directly into the sites pages thanks to the Virtual CMS internal module;
Integration with the newspaper's Managed Radio thanks to a player on the website;
The direct publication of news on social media with the possibility of customising the text of posts before their publication.

The role of GMDE

GMDE was involved in this change process from the very beginning.
With regard to the implementation of the Virtual CMS, GMDE worked closely with the editorial team and together developed a new graphic interface.
Thanks to the new technology and restyling, the editorial staff can now better organise the content categories and make a more harmonious reading experience for the readers of the Corriere Group community.

Next steps

Technological evolution does not stop here.

There are other solutions that GMDE offers the market to better support publishers in implementing new digital strategies.
These include the management of customised newsletters, the contents of which are generated through the interpretation of user behaviour together with the preferences of the individual reader receiving the communication.
Or the content analysis that allows the publisher to recognise valuable content and be able to monetise it, supported by the various paywall options that can be activated directly in the adopted CMS.
