CSQ Centro Stampa Quotidiani, one of the most cutting-edge newspaper printing centers in Europe, continues to invest in technology to meet the needs of a constantly evolving market, with increasing demands for flexibility from publishers.
Following the installation of a new punching and folding line from NELA GmBh, in recent months, innovation at CSQ continues with the integration of the brand-new Advantage Pro by Eco3, the first of its kind in Italy.
The new equipment, still based on violet technology, replaces the last CTP Polaris unit active in Italy, which was installed over 20 years ago. This demonstrates how these machines, specifically designed for intensive plate production in newspaper workflows, are robust, highly reliable, and precise, representing an investment that pays off over time, night after night. A solid and secure prepress phase, involving file reception and plate production, ensures peace of mind in terms of time and quality for the entire printing and distribution process of newspapers, whether at the newsstand or right on the doorstep for the lucky subscribers of home delivery services.
Advantage Pro: The first one installed in Italy
The new Advantage Pro, installed on line 5 of the six currently operating in the facility, is considered a technological upgrade of a line that posed some potential issues in sourcing necessary parts for repair in the event of breakdowns.
The version of the offset CTP offered is the Advantage Pro V multiformat by Eco3. This CTP is more compact than the previous one, allowing for optimization of the workspace in the prepress room, while also significantly increasing loading capacity, now at around 6,000 plates, and productivity, reaching up to 400 plates/hour across four different formats, all inline.
But that’s not all. Thanks to a remote control application for the CTP on the new Advantage Pro V, it is possible to:
Manage two multiformat plate loading trolleys
Intervene in the print configuration
Solve any issues during production
Speed up or, if necessary, stop the production flow
Monitor plate loading and movement inside the CTP through cameras for each individual plate
CSQ Centro Stampa Quotidiani is the most innovative printing facility in Italy, located in Erbusco, Brescia. It supports a wide range of both Italian and international publishers, printing editorial products in offset and digital as needed.
The production amounts to around 100 million copies annually, distributed primarily in central and northern Italy. CSQ staff works across three shifts, seven days a week.
