Scame Group, a leading company in the electrical installation components and systems sector, was founded in 1963 in the high Val Seriana, in the province of Bergamo. Since then, Scame has committed to responsible innovation, focusing on quality, user benefits, and environmental respect. It is recognized as a pioneer in electric vehicle charging solutions and has expanded its offerings to include ATEX IEC-Ex products for areas with explosive atmospheres. Scame's catalogue covers various needs, adhering to national and international standards. Thanks to efficient customer service and a global presence through 16 branches and distributors in over 80 countries, SCAME has established itself nationally and internationally.
The need to launch a digital transformation project for Scame Group arose from the desire to centralize product information in a single integrated system. This intervention was crucial to aligning the company with market demands, optimizing internal processes, and reducing operating costs. Adopting more advanced and flexible technology was fundamental to improving internal efficiency, optimizing processes, and ensuring agile and integrated information management through the ERP system.
To meet the needs of Scame Group, GMDE implemented a PIM (Product Information Management) system. This allowed for the centralization and efficient management of large volumes of product data, ensuring constant updates and consistency of information across all channels. The result was a significant increase in internal efficiency, reducing the risk of errors and duplications and facilitating a quicker response to market demands.
The digitalization project began with an analysis of Scame Group's needs, followed by the collection of ERP data and the creation of scripts for data migration and the installation of the new solution. After training the personnel, the system was integrated with the website and technical data sheets through APIs, and finally, continuous technical assistance was provided for a seamless transition. The adoption of the PIM system has led to numerous benefits, including:
For its future projects, Scame Group is committed to further expanding its digital transformation project, which includes introducing artificial intelligence-based marketing solutions and implementing BMECat to facilitate interoperability and simplify transaction processes.
