Il Ponte di Rimini, the project of implementation of the editorial system

The editorial system will improve the newspaper’s omnichannel publishing processes

Another magazine chose to use the editorial system, specifically Studio by WoodWing, to optimize the production processes of the newspaper.
Let’s talk about Il Ponte di Rimini, a Catholic weekly magazine belonging to the FISC (Italian Federation of Catholic Weeklies), directed by Giovanni Tonelli.
The newspaper, distributed mainly in the dioceses of the province of Rimini, has been active for more than 40 years proving to be one of the longest-running newspapers in Rimini history. The editorial staff is composed of collaborators who live in close contact with the territory, thus reporting information and news of greater interest to readers.

Since 2019 has started a process of widening the publication channels; the digital edition, available free of charge for paper subscribers, and the app "Il Ponte +", present on Apple and Android stores, dedicated to the consultation of the digital newspaper were born during that process. New subscribers can then choose which version to subscribe for.

WoodWing Studio

The editorial system proposed to the editors is Woodwing’s Studio.
Thanks to Studio the editorial staff will be able to continue to produce the newspaper with a layout application, in fact it will move from Quark x-press to Adobe Indesign.
But more than that, with the recent features developed by Woodwing, the editorial staff will be able to create "neutral" content, not intended for a main channel, and then decide whether to send them to the website or to the graphics for the realization of the traditional edition.
 

GMDE, reference for implementation

The GMDE staff has started the installation phase of the editorial system, a phase that will be completely remote. Then, after a meeting to define the needs of the newspaper, they will proceed with the setting of flows and the training of editorial staff to use the editorial system.
